Coffee with a Kick: 5 Coffee Cocktails to Wow Your Friends
Try these coffee cocktail recipes at your next gathering to knock the socks off your guests!
Most of us enjoy coffee in the morning to give us the boost we sometimes need to get up and at ‘em, but our favorite drink is also finding its way into more late-night beverages. Coffee is the perfect way to add a richness and depth of flavor to your drinks. Try out these recipes at your next cocktail party to impress and energize your guests!
Espresso Martini
The classic martini gets a caffeine twist that is sure to get the party started!

1 ½ oz vodka
½ oz espresso
½ oz Kahlua
½ oz creme de cacao
3 espresso beans
Stir the liquid ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with the espresso beans.
Café Amaretto
A warm, decadent drink with an alcoholic kick.

1 oz amaretto
½ oz brandy
6 oz hot coffee
Whipped cream
Pour the alcohol into a warmed heat-resistant mug. Add the hot coffee and stir. Top with whipped cream.
Iced Irish Coffee
A chilled take on the classic recipe, which was created in the 1940s in Ireland and brought to the US by Stanton Delaplane, a travel writer for the San Francisco Chronicle.

1 ½ oz Irish whiskey
1 tsp brown sugar
4 oz cold coffee
1 ½ oz heavy cream
Pour the whiskey and sugar into a chilled old-fashioned glass. Stir to combine. Fill with ice, add the coffee and cream, and stir.
Jamaican Coffee
A warm drink enriched with rum and Tia Maria to give it even more heat!

1 oz Jamaican rum
1 oz Tia Maria
8 oz hot coffee
Whipped cream
Pinch of ground allspice
Combine the rum, Tia Maria and hot coffee in a warmed heat-resistant mug, and stir. Float the whipped cream on top, and sprinkle with the allspice.
Tijuana Speedball
This Mexican-inspired drink was created by master mixologist Felicia Sledge, bartender at the Portland, Oregon hot spot Blue Hour.

1 oz reposado tequila
½ oz Kahlua
½ oz Baileys Irish cream
1 ½ oz cold espresso
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Shake the liquid ingredients vigorously with ice. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
